Ornamented instruments cost several times the plain ones and measured no better; the difference was inlay, fitted case, and the shop it came from. In this category price behaves the same way, with one uncomfortable complication — the expensive one may genuinely feel more effective.
What a thing costs and what it does are different measurements. These three keep them separate.
No claim here rests on what something costs, in either direction. Cheap is not evidence of poor quality and expensive is not evidence of potency, and a page that reaches for either has substituted a number it can see for one it cannot.
Knowing that price carries no information does not tell you what belongs in your regimen. A clinician has no interest in what anything cost you, which sounds like a small thing and is one of the few genuinely disinterested readings available in the whole subject.
By the argument on this page, what we charge for a written guide is evidence about our costs and nothing about its quality. We would rather say that than let a figure do work it cannot do. We sell no supplement, hold no affiliate arrangement, and publish no testimonials.
This is not an argument for buying the cheapest thing on the shelf. Price does track some real inputs — independent testing costs money, and so does a decent extract — and a very low price can mean those were skipped. What it does not track is whether the ingredient works, which is a question no amount of manufacturing care can settle in a compound's favour. Both errors are available here, and the expensive one is the more expensive.
